Donald Trump on Friday responded to his comment that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. "can do anything he wants" regarding public health.
"Well, he's going to have a big role in health care," Trump started in response to reporters' questions during a campaign stop in Michigan.
While reporters lobbed overlapping questions at Trump, the Republican presidential candidate did not directly answer a question about whether he agreed with RFK Jr.'s views on vaccines — RFK Jr. being a noted vaccine skeptic. He is reportedly angling himself to take control over U.S. public health agencies, should Trump win the election. RFK Jr. suspended his independent presidential campaign in August and endorsed Trump for president.
"We'll be talking about a lot of things, but he's going to have a big role in health care, a very big role," the former president said.
"He knows it better than anybody," the Republican nominee for president said to reporters about RFK Jr.'s views on public health.
"He's got some views that I happen to agree with very strongly, and I have for a long time," Trump said.
