Liverpool fans honored soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo at Tuesday’s match by singing “You’ll never walk alone” following the death of his newborn son.
Ronaldo was missing in action on the field as he decided to spend some time with his loved ones during the Manchester United’s Premier League match against Liverpool on Tuesday at Anfield. Everyone at the stadium stood up and applauded for the entire seventh minute while singing “You’ll never walk alone”, to show support to Ronaldo and his family in this difficult time.
Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez were expecting twins this year when he announced the passing away of his son on Monday. Their newborn daughter survived. He shared the news on social media, saying that it is one of the greatest pains any parent can feel. “Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness. Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
