Gov. Ricketts (R-NE) says he looks forward to "Roe v. Wade being overturned,” saying “it took away" state power.

Governor Pete Ricketts (R-NE) while talking on Newsmax TV today, claimed that Roe v Wade was a horrible decision made nearly 50 years ago.

He thinks that we should be guided by the constitution and the states should get back the powers that are not specifically outlined to the federal government. The states should be regulating women’s rights to abortion.

“It took away power from the states,” Ricketts claimed. “And I look forward to this Roe v Wade being overturned and for us having the opportunity here in Nebraska to do more to protect pre-born babies.”

Ricketts always insisted that his state was pro-life and so he issued a proclamation declaring January 22, 2022, as a Statewide Day of Prayer. It was on the same day in 1973 that the landmark Roe v Wade decision was made in which women were given the right to abortion.

A lot of debate and discussion are going on revolving around a leaked draft from Supreme Court justices that show opinions are in favor of turning down the historic Roe v Wade decision.
