President Joe Biden spoke to reporters today regarding the baby formula shortage troubling the country at present.

While speaking to reporters at the White House today, he claimed, “We moved as quickly as the problem became apparent to us and we have to move with caution as well as speed because we've got to make sure what we're getting is, in fact, first-rate product.”

Biden said that the Food and Drug Administration must go through a certain process to make sure the quality of products available in the market is up to the standard.

The president promptly replied that the government had to be “better mind readers” to anticipate the shortage and act before the shortage became apparent as claimed by the Republicans.

Earlier this year, Abbott Nutrition recalled certain instant baby formula products but the shortage was already ongoing owing to the supply chain blockage and labor shortage due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
