AR AG Leslie Rutledge (R) announces AR and five other states are suing Biden over his student debt cancellation plan.

Arizona Attorney General, Leslie Rutledge, a Republican, announced that Arizona and five other states are suing the Biden Administration, the Secretary of Education, and the U.S. Department of Education over the student debt cancellation plan.

RUTLEDGE: “To date, I have taken over 100 legal actions against President Joe Biden's Administration. And today, I'm announcing a lawsuit against President Joe Biden, Secretary Miguel Cardona and the US Department of Education for violating federal law: the constitutional principle of separation of powers in the Administrative Procedures Act. The six states filing a challenge to the Biden Administration's student loan cancellation program in federal court in an eastern district of Missouri include Arkansas, include Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and South Carolina. In it, we ask the court for an immediate temporary restraining order pausing this program. Prompt relief is main site because the Biden Administration has indicated it will start canceling loan balances as early as next week.”
