'Kamala can't have my gun': A chaotic political week in 60 seconds.

Ted Cruz doesn't want Kamala Harris to have his gun or steak and news anchors tried to figure out "brat" — in a chaotic week of politics, following President Joe Biden's exit from the 2024 race, Harris dominated the news cycle.

Here are some of the other notable moments from the week:"Kamala can't have my gun," Cruz, a Republican Texas senator, said on Fox News. "And she sure as hell can't have my steaks and cheeseburgers."

“I have decided the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation,” Biden said as he addressed the nation from the Oval Office about his decision to end his presidential campaign.

Following Biden's exit, British pop star Charli xcx posted on X that "kamala IS brat."

The Harris campaign leaned into the apparent endorsement and changed its Twitter/X banner to match the green color and text style of Charli xcx's album "Brat."

"I will aspire to be brat," CNN's Jake Tapper said during a segment explaining the social media trend.

Meanwhile, Harris and Donald Trump, set to face off in the general election, are already trading verbal barbs as they seek to define the new contours of the race:

"I know Donald Trump's type," Harris said on the campaign trail, comparing her record as a prosecutor to the former president's conviction on 34 felony counts.

"I'm the prosecutor," Trump said, mocking Harris' talking point, "and he is the convicted felon."
