"Sounds like we got some fans & some haters": Vance is booed before speaking in front of firefighters union in Boston.

Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance was booed Thursday before he spoke in front of a firefighters union in Boston.

"Sounds like we got some fans and some haters," Vance said in response to the boos after he took the stage at the International Association of Fire Fighters Convention for a campaign appearance.

"That's okay. Listen to what I have to say here, and I'll make my pitch," he continued before he started his speech.

Vance spoke to the same firefighters union convention one day after Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz did. The Ohio senator acknowledged the union's previous support of Democrats, asking, "What has it gotten you?" The firefighters union endorsed President Joe Biden early in the 2020 election cycle.

Later in his remarks, Vance faced more negative reaction from the crowd, which serenaded him with more boos when the VP candidate said that he and running mate Donald Trump were on the "most pro-worker Republican ticket in history."
