"Since when does the VP have what sounds like a Southern accent?": Fox News' Peter Doocy spars with WH press secretary.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Tuesday shut down Fox News' Peter Doocy's question on Vice President Kamala Harris' "Southern accent."

"Since when does the vice president have what sounds like a Southern accent?" Doocy asked during a press briefing.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Jean-Pierre replied.

"She was talking about unions in Detroit using one tone of voice," Doocy said. "She used the same line in Pittsburgh, and it sounded like she at least had some kind of a Southern drawl."

"I mean, do you think Americans seriously think that this is an important question?" Jean-Pierre asked.

Several Fox News anchors and online critics have accused Harris of changing her accent, particularly over her saying the phrase "you betta" during a campaign rally in Detroit on Monday.

"They care about the economy. They care about lowering costs. They care about health care. That's what Americans care about. That's what they want to hear,” Jean-Pierre said.

"Is that how she talks in meetings here?" Doocy asked.

"Peter, we're moving on," Jean-Pierre said.
