Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson tells CBS News she is "concerned" by the SCOTUS' immunity decision.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson criticized the U.S. Supreme Court's decision on presidential immunity in an interview clip that aired Tuesday.

"I was concerned about a system that appeared to provide immunity for one individual under one set of circumstances, when we have a criminal justice system that had ordinarily treated everyone the same," Jackson, elaborating on her dissenting opinion in the immunity case, told CBS News' Norah O'Donnell.

Last month, in a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court granted broad immunity for official presidential acts. In her dissent, Jackson wrote, "The Court has now declared for the first time in history that the most powerful official in the United States can (under circumstances yet to be fully determined) become a law unto himself."

O'Donnell proceeded to ask Jackson whether she was "prepared" for the 2024 election to possibly go before the Supreme Court.

"As prepared as anyone can be," Jackson responded. "Let me ask you: Are you prepared for all of the news cycles that you're getting as a result of this election?"

"No," O'Donnell said, laughing.

"No, exactly," Jackson said. "I mean, I think there are legal issues that arise out of the political process. And so, the Supreme Court has to be prepared to respond if that should be necessary."
