Fresh from hosting the Super Bowl, Los Angeles makes a strong case as the most important city for the NFL. At his annual “State of the League” press conference ahead of the big game, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he expected the city to become a “regular Super Bowl stop.” And how could he not? Previously without a football franchise for more than 20 years, the City of Angels now has two, the Chargers and the Super Bowl-winning Rams, playing at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium — the world’s most expensive sports venue by a wide margin. “It is clear that the NFL loves them some Los Angeles,” LZ argues. Celebrity-tracking cameras at the game had almost too many A-listers to focus on, and the NFL’s new media headquarters are right next to the stadium. “It would not surprise me to see them even shift some of their offices from New York to Los Angeles,” Will says. “It seems to be a better fit for them.”
