Sen. Ted Cruz on Thursday criticized President Biden for sending humanitarian aid to Gaza while limiting some weapons to Israel.

“Where we are now is, the Biden administration is sending money right now to Gaza. Many of us said, 'If you send the money to Gaza, it will be seized by Hamas.’ What happened? The first shipment came in and, boom, immediately seized by Hamas, exactly like we said,” Cruz said, without evidence, at a news conference with several fellow GOP senators.

“The Biden White House has been the most anti-Israel administration this nation has ever seen,” the Texas Republican continued. “Literally from Day One, the Biden White House has been undermining Israel at every step of the way.”

Cruz's condemnation came after Biden announced Wednesday that the U.S. would halt some shipments of offensive weapons to Israel if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu orders a major invasion of the city of Rafah. The president also acknowledged that some American weapons have been used to kill civilians in Gaza.

The U.S. also confirmed Tuesday that it paused the shipment of thousands of weapons to Israel last week, including 1,800 2,000-pound bombs and 1,700 500-pound bombs, amid concerns about Rafah. The U.S. is reportedly also reviewing other planned transfers.
