Texas A&M football coach Jimbo Fisher slammed Alabama’s Nick Saban for accusing the A&M program of buying every player on the team.
Saban, while speaking in front of local business leaders in Birmingham on Wednesday claimed that he believed in the name, image, and likeness, (NIL) when it was done in the correct way.
He pointed out that Alabama players made around $3 million last year and only 25 players could use the NIL compensation. But protested that though they did not buy any player, it might be challenging to continue doing the same. The hint was aimed toward Texas A&M who he claimed, “bought every player on their team”.
Fisher refuted the claim and asserted that Texas A&M did not buy any player nor did they break any rule. He called Saban a “narcissist” and said that he does not allow things to happen if it is not to his liking.
“Some people think they're God. Go dig into how God did his deal. You may find out about…a lot of things you don't want to know,” Fisher said. “We built him up to be the czar of football”.
