While at a press conference, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat from New York, declined to say if he would endorse Senator Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat from Arizona, in a primary if she were to run in 2024. Senator Sinema is one of the most moderate Democrats in the Senate and frequently votes with the Republican caucus. She was recently at a bipartisan event hosted by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Republican from Kentucky, where he spoke of her with high praise.

REPORTER: “Leader McConnell said at the start of the week that Kyrsten Sinema is the most effective first-term Senator he has see in his career, she's blocked the leadership, the Democratic Leadership at times, will you endorse her and her primary should run in 2024?

SCHUMER: “The bottom line is that Senator McConnell said I was very effective when I was there as well. Senator, Senator Sinema has done a good job on a whole lot of different issues.”
