Upon accepting her Music Video for Good award for “About Damn Time,” Lizzo addressed the audience telling them to vote.

Here is what the singer had to say: “I don't know what music video for good means, but I do know what your vote means, and that's a lot. Your vote means everything to me. It means everything to making a change in this country. so, remember, when you're voting for your favorite artist, vote to change some of these laws that are oppressing us.”

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday, August 28th. The show was hosted by Nicki Minaj, Jack Harlow, and LL Cool J. Nicki Minaj was honored with the Video Vanguard Award by her fans on stage.
