“Pirates of the Caribbean” star Johnny Depp took the stand for the second day of testimony in his $50 million defamation case against his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard. Heard is accusing Depp of domestic abuse. During his testimony, the judge permitted Depp to re-enact details of alleged violence by Heard.

Wearing a gray suit, black shirt, and sporting his iconic ponytail, the 58-year-old Depp described being at home when he suddenly began getting “clobbered from behind.” Depp went on to say that primal instinct kicked in. He ducked and covered but claims that the blows continued. He explained that he then protected his face as he turned towards Heard, who was swinging her arms wildly. Depp then re-enacted putting Heard into a bear hug to prevent her from hitting him further. Depp claimed that even as he held Heard in that position, she remained “very angry and very animated" and continued to kick him and knee him.

Depp paused and then sighed, describing the incident as “unpleasant.”
