Leaders from around the world – energy executives, business leaders, startup CEOs, academics, and policymakers – will gather at IHS Markit’s 40th Annual CERAWeek from March 7-11 in Houston, Texas. Representing the United States, Climate Envoy John Kerry, Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm, and Senators Joe Manchin, Lisa Murkowski, and Dan Sullivan will join hundreds of speakers and thousands of delegates to discuss the state of the energy industry and what lies ahead. On the agenda are the geopolitical, supply chain, and pandemic-related challenges that have arisen since CERAWeek last met in person in March 2019. The conference begins days after the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s recent report outlined the inevitable and potentially irreversible impacts of Earth’s rising temperature. To take on the global climate crisis, the energy industry must lead with innovation. At CERAWeek, industry leaders will explore the possibilities and potential of the energy sector as the world attempts to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.
