"Expansion on Medicare ... sooner": Tim Walz tells "The View" what Kamala Harris would have done differently than Biden.

Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz told “The View” on Monday that Kamala Harris would have moved faster on proposing Medicare expansion if she was president as opposed to President Joe Biden.

“Can you point to a policy decision over the last four years that you and the vice president would have handled differently from President Biden?” Sara Haines, a co-host on “The View,” asked the Minnesota governor during an interview.

“This expansion of Medicare is something that I wished would have been proposed sooner,” Walz said. “But, look, they're tackling the issues that they needed to.”

“I think she's really leaning into these issues that impact people personally and then doubling down on, whether it's housing or Child Tax Credit. Those are pretty big differences, and I don't think that's a pejorative towards it,” Walz added. “There were other issues that were being dealt with, and she's her own leader. She's got her own path, a new way forward.”

Harris has taken criticism on the presidential campaign trail for not carving out enough policy differences from Biden, although she has created some distance, such as by breaking with her predecessor and suggesting a smaller increase in the capital gains tax rate.
