A person passed out at the White House press briefing on Tuesday.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was standing at the podium in the front of the room addressing questions from reporters when someone shouted from the back, “We have an emergency.”
“Hold on. Did somebody pass out?” Jean-Pierre asked as she made her way over to the area where the person in need of assistance was.
“Can we get—?” the press secretary began to ask when someone replied: “Yep.”
Over a minute went by as members of the White House staff retrieved cold water and began assisting the person who passed out. Many reporters stood up to look over at the scene as it unfolded.
“Ok, sorry about that,” Jean-Pierre said when she finally made her way back to the podium. “Hopefully she’s OK.”
“It is stuffy in here,” a journalist said from the audience.
“You are correct. It is hot in here,” Jean-Pierre replied.
