Rep. Nancy Mace on Monday accused Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle of not fully cooperating with the House Oversight Committee and not handing over all audio and video recordings from the Donald Trump assassination attempt.
"You're full of shit today," Mace fired back while she questioned Cheatle on her alleged noncompliance. "You're just being completely dishonest."
“We have to maintain decorum in this committee, no matter how upset we get," a committee member said in response.
Cheatle testified in front of the House Oversight Committee nine days after the attempted assassination on Donald Trump.
Mace ripped into Cheatle after she took issue with the quality of Cheatle's responses during her testimony before the committee.
"These are important questions that the American people want answers to, and you're just dodging, and talking around it in generalities," the South Carolinian Republican representative added, "and we had to subpoena you to be here and you won't even answer the questions."
Mace used another expletive when she alleged that several news outlets received the Secret Service boss' opening statement prior to the House committee getting it.
"I have no idea how my statement got out," Cheatle said.
"Well, that's bullshit," Mace retorted.
Cheatle, who was grilled by members of Congress from both sides of the aisle during the hearing Monday, said the assassination attempt earlier this month was “most significant operational failure at the Secret Service in decades” and took full responsibility for the lapses in security.
