Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and James Comer (R-KY) got into a screaming match at a House Oversight Committee hearing Wednesday on “Defending America from the Chinese Communist Party’s Political Warfare.”

Ranking Member Raskin brought up the House Republicans’ unfounded allegations accusing President Joe Biden of accepting bribes — which remain at the center of the GOP’s impeachment inquiry.

“[House Ways and Means] Chairman Jason Smith, for example, said this was a smoking gun, and it was the definitive proof that the Bidens took bribes,” Raskin said of claims from a since-arrested FBI informant charged with making false statements about the president and his son Hunter. “It’s obviously been dropped, and yet this was the genesis of our investigation.”

“That’s just simply not true, but go ahead,” Chair Comer interrupted during Raskin’s allotted time.

“It’s OK, as Tony Bobulinski said, for China to bribe Joe Biden’s family with $9 million?” Comer questioned Raskin.

“That’s the lie that's been discredited. I mean, where is your impeachment investigation? If Joe Biden took a $9 million bribe from China, why aren’t you impeaching him for that?” Raskin responded.

“Who says we’re not?” Comer asked.

“Well, I can invite Mr. Moskowitz to come back in. Do you want to move for impeachment today? Because I thought that that was your main agenda item. You said it was the paramount priority of the committee,” Raskin replied.

“This is a hearing on China, and you all have an obsession with Russia and Trump. It’s disturbing. You need therapy,” Comer said. “You all need therapy, Mr. Raskin.”

“You’re the one who’s involved with the deranged politician, not me, OK?” Raskin shot back. “I’ve divorced myself from Donald Trump a long time ago. You’re the one who needs to disentangle from that situation.”

“Somebody needs therapy here, but it’s nobody on our side of the aisle,” Raskin later added.

The room continued to descend into chaos and Comer then referred to Raskin as “Mr. Raskins.”

“My last name is Raskin, OK? We’ve sat next to each other for more than a year. You don’t have to add the S,” the Democrat complained.
