Right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson on Wednesday attacked Kamala Harris and bizarrely argued Donald Trump’s potential return to the White House would be like a “dad” coming home to give a “bad girl” a “vigorous spanking.”
“When dad gets home, you know what he says?” Carlson during a speech introducing the Republican presidential nominee at a Turning Point USA Rally in Duluth, Georgia. “‘You've been a bad girl. You've been a bad little girl, and you're getting a vigorous spanking right now. And, no, it's not going to hurt me more than it hurts you. No, it's not. I'm not going to lie: This is going to hurt you a lot more than it hurts me. And you earned this. You're getting a vigorous spanking because you've been a bad girl. And it has to be this way. It has to be this way because it's true. And you're only going to get better when you take responsibility for what you did.’”
Carlson’s rant inspired the crowd to chant, “Daddy’s home!” when Trump took the stage. Some of Trump’s fans for years have sold T-shirts outside his rallies that describe him as “daddy.”
