“The View” co-host Ana Navarro on Monday slammed Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD), a contender for Donald Trump's vice presidential running mate, for defending her decision to shoot and kill her 14-month-old puppy Cricket for "aggressive behavior."

“The only woman I know who shot dogs was Cruella de Vil, and she was a villain in a Disney movie. So, now she's Gov. Cruella,” Navarro said. “I couldn't believe that she wrote about it, as if it was normal and a good thing to show.”

“All I can say to you is this: If she hates and shoots untrainable dogs who are dangerous to anyone they come in contact with, Trump better be careful.”

The South Dakota governor came under fire last week after an excerpt was shared from her forthcoming memoir in which she described shooting and killing an “untrainable” family dog. Noem claimed her 14-month-old puppy “Cricket,” had an “aggressive personality,” and described a hunting trip where the dog attacked a neighbor’s chickens and attempted to bite her.

Noem said she included the gruesome story to demonstrate her readiness in politics to do what needs to be done, even if it's “difficult, messy and ugly.”
