"That's my dad!": Tim Walz's son Gus stands up and sobs during his dad's VP nomination acceptance speech.

Gov. Tim Walz's 17-year-old son Gus on Wednesday stood up and tearfully pointed in admiration at his father at the DNC — an emotional highlight of the convention.

"Hope, Gus, and Gwen, you are my entire world, and I love you," Walz said to his family as he formally accepted the Democratic nomination for vice president on the convention stage.

"That's my dad!" Gus said and was seen sobbing and pointing at his father.

While he spoke about IVF and fertility treatments in his acceptance speech, Walz recounted how he and wife Gwen Walz struggled with infertility and turned to treatment options to start a family.

"This is personal for Gwen and I," the Minnesota governor said. "If you've never experienced the hell that is infertility, I guarantee you, you know somebody who has."

"I can remember praying each night for a phone call," Walz recounted. "The pit in your stomach when the phone would rang, and the absolute agony when we heard the treatments hadn't worked."

Walz continued, noting that the couple sought fertility treatment for years. "When our daughter was born, we named her Hope."
