The Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Beto O’Rourke, responded to the bussing of migrants to sanctuary cities on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Recently, Republican governors in southern states have begun to transport migrants to sanctuary cities in northern states as a commentary on the immigration crisis. Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent two buses of migrants to Vice President Harris’s residence in Washington D.C. This happened the same time that Republican Governor Ron DeSantis in Florida sent two planes, totaling 50 migrants, to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. According to the mayor of Washington, D.C., Governor Greg Abbott has bussed 9,000 migrants into the city since he sent the first bus in April.
O’ROURKE: “Sending these migrants to D.C. to Chicago to New York now to the Vice President's house, isn't doing anything for them it's not doing anything for us. It's not addressing the underlying challenge that we have in terms of our immigration system.”
