Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) attacked the Biden administration for backing mask mandates on airplanes and lifting Title 42 restrictions at the border, while speaking at a news conference today.
Sen. Cruz criticized the CDC for aligning with the Biden administration in lifting Title 42 at the border as well as mask mandates on airplanes.
Speaking about Title 42, the CDC said in a statement on April 1, 2022, that “After considering current public health conditions and an increased availability of tools to fight COVID-19 (such as highly effective vaccines and therapeutics), the CDC Director has determined that an order suspending the right to introduce migrants into the United States is no longer necessary.”
Sen. Cruz applauded the ruling of the federal court that stopped the decision to end the use of Title 42 and the decision to wear masks on the planes.
But talking about the CDC he said, “the partisan hypocrisy is stunning. This is the CDC embracing open borders and I will say partisan hypocrisy, Capitol Hill is certainly not immune from that particular failing.”
