RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel rebuffed a comment from a Biden aide comparing their administration to that of Ronald Reagan’s, saying: “I think that's a little sacrilegious actually.” The comment was made by staffers who see similarities in sentiment between Biden now and Reagan as he eyed a second term. Reagan would win a second term aged 74. Biden will be 81 years old on election day 2024. McDaniel states that Biden inherited a recovery from Donald Trump. In fact, Biden inherited a country that was plunging into an economic crisis accelerated by America’s mishandled COVID response.
McDANIEL: “Joe Biden inherited a recovery under Donald Trump and took us into a recession. So we know that that happened because of the stimulus package, they cut the Keystone Pipeline, they increased energy prices, we are all suffering from it. The American people know we're under a recession and Joe Biden, absolutely, is at the helm of that. So they should go read their history before they start comparing Joe Biden to Ronald Reagan. I think that's a little sacrilegious, actually.
