Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) has a message for his Republican colleagues: Call out antisemitism in all forms, not just when it’s politically convenient.

“I think everything the Republicans do as it relates to antisemitism must be viewed through a political lens and is done for political purposes,” Goldman told The Recount on Monday outside Columbia University. “If they truly cared about antisemitism, they would be calling out the Charlottesville rioters and protesters as much as they are calling out the Hamas-supporting protesters on campuses.”

On the same day, GOP lawmakers were visiting campus to call for the university president’s resignation.

“I, as a Jew, am genuinely concerned about antisemitism. And because I'm genuinely concerned about antisemitism, I care about it from both the right and from the left. It's unacceptable in any form,” Goldman said. “But when you just identify and try to jump on one particular antisemitism, but not another type of antisemitism because it may be bad for you politically, it's not a function of moral authority. You have no credibility. It is hypocritical.”
