President-elect Trump rings the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange after TIME named him "Person of the Year."

President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday morning rang the New York Stock Exchange opening bell for the first time after TIME named him the 2024 “Person of the Year.”

“We’re with you all the way,” Trump said in the Stock Exchange building in Manhattan.

Trump was joined by Vice President-elect JD Vance, his daughters Ivanka and Tiffany, his wife Melania, and NYSE President Lynn Martin.

Trump’s invitation comes as business leaders have increasingly made overtures to the incoming president, in apparent attempts to normalize relationships with the Republican, who has promised business-friendly policies and deregulation. Before he rang the bell, Trump promised that his incoming administration would usher in “an economy the likes of which nobody”s ever seen before” and cut taxes “very substantially.”

“We’re going to give tremendous incentive like no other country has,” said Trump, who has vowed to cut the corporate tax rate to 15% from 21%.

“But only if you make your product here — otherwise you pay 21%,” the former real estate magnate said.

TIME named Trump its “Person of the Year” for a second time, after it first gave him the honor when he won the 2016 election. Thirteen other presidents have earned the honor, and the winner of the election has won the award in every presidential election year since 2000.
