President Biden says his relationship with Rep. Nancy Pelosi is "fine" after her pressure campaign for him to drop out.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday said his relationship with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is “fine” after her reported pressure campaign for him to drop out of the 2024 race.

“There was a perception that perhaps your hand was forced, and some pointed fingers to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who you have a long relationship with and accomplished many things with. Did you feel that your hand was forced, and what is your relationship with Speaker Pelosi now?” Alyssa Farah Griffin, a co-host on “The View,” asked the president during an interview.

“Our relationship is fine,” Biden said. “Look, I never fully believed the assertions that somehow there was this overwhelming reluctance of my running again. I didn't sense that. … My polling was about — you know, always within range of beating [Donald Trump].”

“It makes sense. There were some folks who would like to see me step aside so they have a chance to move on,” Biden continued. “I get that. That's just human nature.”

Biden did not go into further detail about his relationship with Pelosi now, or whether they have spoken since he exited the presidential in July. Pelosi in August told CNN that she had not spoken with the former Democratic nominee since he ended his campaign.

“He knows I love him,” she said.
