While speaking at a Democratic National Committee event, President Biden spoke about the importance of climate change and how he doesn’t believe there are many total climate deniers anymore. The past few years have seen a drastic uptick in natural disasters due to the effects of climate change. President Biden has taken many initiatives to make the United States a greener, more sustainable country with one of the big legislative actions being in the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act. The Inflation Reduction Act sets out for the United States to reach the goal of producing net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
BIDEN: “The survival of our planet is on the ballot and that sounds like hyperbole, but it genuinely is. Well, I tell you what, the thing that we found out and everybody found out, there's not a lot of total climate deniers anymore after they see what happened this year. But guess what? We got a lot to do.”
