"Not counting on that": Biden on whether Netanyahu is delaying a diplomatic agreement to influence the U.S. election.

President Joe Biden on Friday voiced that he is "not counting" on whether Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is delaying a diplomatic agreement in the Middle East to influence the U.S. election.

"This week, Sen. Chris Murphy said it's certainly a possibility that the Israeli government is not going to sign any diplomatic agreement prior to the election — which is what you have been calling for for so long — potentially to try to influence the result," CBS News' Weijia Jiang asked the president.

"Do you agree? Do you have any worries that Netanyahu may be trying to influence the election and that's why he has not agreed to a diplomatic solution?" Jiang continued.

"No administration has helped Israel more than I have," Biden responded.

"None. None. None," the president added. "And I think Bibi [Netanyahu] should remember that. And whether he's trying to influence the election or not, I don't know, but I'm not counting on that."

Some Democrats have suspected that the Israeli prime minister is attempting to influence the election by refusing to heed any of Biden's diplomatic calls to achieve a peace deal in Gaza while also confronting Hezbollah and Iran.
