“My God. Are you ok, Mr. Chairman?”: Eric Swalwell goes off on Jim Jordan for spreading racist pet-eating conspiracy.

Rep. Eric Swalwell railed against an AI-generated image that the official House Judiciary GOP account posted to Twitter/X, which promotes a false conspiracy theory that Haitian immigrants are eating pets in Springfield, Ohio. Donald Trump jumped on the bizarre lie during Tuesday’s presidential debate.

“In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs, the people that came in, they’re eating the cats. They’re eating, they’re eating the pets that live there,” Trump claimed during the debate.

“ABC News did reach out to city manager there. He told us there have been no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured, or abused by individuals within the immigrant community,” moderator David Muir corrected.

“What in the hell is this?” the California Democrat said during a hearing Tuesday, questioning the committee’s chair, Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, about the account writing, “Protect our ducks and kittens in Ohio!” accompanied by a viral AI-generated image of Trump hugging a duck and cat.

“I hope you’re ok,” Swalwell continued. “I don’t know if the aliens who are eating your ducks are in the room with us right now. But, Mr. Chairman, this is a serious issue.”

Republicans responded by trolling Swalwell with more racist AI images of pets in danger.
