Kamala Harris' talking points are starting to sound very familiar this campaign season.
Since she announced her presidential candidacy in July, Harris has limited herself to few interviews. While her campaign has signaled that the Democratic nominee will do more interviews, especially with local news outlets in battleground states, Harris has repeated similar, go-to phrases in her responses.
Harris often says something along the lines of, "I was raised as a middle-class kid" when she discusses her economic vision.
The vice president often references the American people's "ambitions, and aspirations, and dreams."
On her career as a prosecutor, the Democratic candidate for president has noted a similar message: "I never asked a victim of crime, 'Were they a Republican or a Democrat?'"
On abortion, Harris states the refrain, "You don't have to abandon your faith or deeply held beliefs to agree: the government should not be telling her what to do with her body."
Harris has faced media criticism that she can't handle unscripted questions or is hiding something. However, per NPR, the Harris campaign bets that voters would rather hear Harris' vision and priorities instead of detailed policy proposals.
