Kamala Harris says "I love you so much" to Joe Biden after his DNC speech.

Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris was seen saying, “I love you so much” to President Joe Biden as they embraced after his speech a the DNC on Monday night.

Biden, who gave the closing remarks on Night 1 of the Democratic National Convention, frequently praised his vice president and former running mate, even going off script to explicitly insert her name in references to their work together in his speech.

Parts of the night — especially toward the end, when First Lady Jill Biden spoke and the Bidens’ daughter Ashley introduced her father to the crowd — were devoted to praising Biden for his presidency and career. The crowd often chanted, “Thank you, Joe!” while convention attendees held up “We Love Joe” signs, with a heart replacing the word “love.” Biden also became emotional after his daughter’s introduction and embraced her on the stage, and the crowd gave him a long standing ovation.

The president’s remarks were viewed as one of his last major speeches following a 50-plus-year career in politics. Biden on July 21 announced his decision to exit the 2024 presidential race — acquiescing to significant pressure from the Democratic Party to step down after his widely-panned performance in the CNN presidential debate in Atlanta in late June — and endorsed Harris to replace him.
