"I'm still younger than Donald Trump": Bill Clinton, who recently turned 78, takes dig at Trump at the DNC.

Former President Bill Clinton on Wednesday took a dig at Donald Trump on age during his speech at the DNC.

"I am too old to gild the lily," the 42nd president said from the convention stage.

"Two days ago I turned 78, the oldest man in my family of four generations," Clinton continued. "And the only personal vanity I want to assert is: I'm still younger than Donald Trump."

During his convention speech at the United Center in Chicago, the former president warned Democrats to not get "distracted by phony issues" or "overconfident," citing "more than one election" that slipped away.

Clinton's speech came almost eight years after his wife Hillary Clinton's presidential bid was dashed by Trump. While he did not explicitly reference his wife's loss, Clinton's remarks sought to rally Democrats, as Vice President Kamala Harris faces the same opponent this election.

“This is a brutal, tough business," Clinton said. "I want you to be happy. One of the reasons that President-to-Be Harris is doing so well is that we’re all so happy."
