Vice President Kamala Harris spoke about her love of Venn diagrams at a White House event Thursday that marked two years since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
Harris sat down with TV personality and model Chrissy Teigen to discuss reproductive rights in the wake of the Dobbs v. Jackson decision that ended the federal right to an abortion.
“You know, when the Dobbs decision came down, I actually — so, I’m going to confess, I love Venn diagrams. You know, those three — if you’re ever like in a moment of conflict, pull out a Venn diagram,” Harris said laughing. “They’ll just help you sort things out, right?”
“I’ll do that with John,” Teigen chimed in, referring to her husband, singer John Legend, who was sitting in the audience with their children.
“And so, I asked my team, show me from which states we’re seeing attacks on reproductive freedom, which states we’re seeing attacks on access to the ballot, where we’re seeing attacks from on LGBTQ rights,” the vice president continued. “And you all would not be shocked or surprised to know there was a huge intersection. These freedoms are intertwined.”
