President Joe Biden on Tuesday slammed his opponent Donald Trump's debate comments about "Black jobs" during a speech at the NAACP National Convention.
"Folks, I know what a Black job is: it's a vice president of the United States," Biden declared, referring to Vice President Kamala Harris and drawing cheers and applause from the audience.
Biden's remarks on the campaign trail responded directly to Trump's comments during the CNN debate last month, when the former president suggested that immigrants were "taking Black jobs.” Trump's usage has been widely criticized."
It tells a lot about [Trump] and about his character," Biden said.
"I know what a Black job is," Biden continued. "The first Black president in American history Barack Obama."
Biden also pointed out that he nominated Lloyd Austin as the first Black secretary of defense and Ketanji Brown Jackson as the first Black woman on the U.S. Supreme Court.
"It matters," the president noted. "It matters."
