Watch this bird’s-eye view of the damage left by Hurricane Ian. Hurricane Ian, which was nearly a Category 5 storm, made landfall with the west coast of Florida on Wednesday. The hurricane was one of the worst hurricanes that Florida has seen, and the first time a hurricane has hit directly hit the west coast of Florida in 100 years. Footage has started to come in of the aftermath of the hurricane and it is heartbreaking. Homes and businesses are absolutely decimated and there is expected to be many, many casualties.

There has been a large federal by President Biden and he has approved major disaster declaration for nine Florida counties. This declaration by President Biden allows the individuals from the nine counties to seek individual assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, also known as FEMA. There is immense mobilization on all fronts, with the federal government and nearby states assisting in any way they can.
