The Republican Governor from Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis, touted the $12 million in funding he has for transporting migrants. He recently made headlines by sending 50 Venezuelan migrants unannounced to Martha’s Vineyard in a political stunt to criticize the Biden Administration’s handling of immigration. The migrants reported that they were lured into boarding the flight to Martha’s Vineyard after they were told they were headed to Boston for work opportunities and faster processing times. This stunt by Governor DeSantis is currently being questioned from a legal perspective to see if any laws were broken by his actions.
DESANTIS: “I got $12 million for us to use and so we are going to use it and you're going to see more and more, but I'm going to make sure that we exhaust all those funds because I think it's important. I think people want to see that we're actually standing up and trying to protect the state against Biden's really, really reckless policies.”
