Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) says it's "sad" the migrants he flew to Martha's Vineyard were moved to Joint Base Cape Cod.

Governor Ron DeSantis, a Republican in Florida, says it's "sad" that the migrants he flew to Martha's Vineyard were moved to Joint Base Cape Cod. Recently, Governor DeSantis made headlines when he send two planes with 50 Venezuelan migrants to Martha’s Vineyard unannounced. This political stunt is part of a recent trend of southern governors sending migrants to northern cities with Democratic leadership as a statement on the border crisis. The mayor from Washington D.C. recently reported that Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican in Texas, had sent over 9,000 migrants to the city. These republican governors have been called out for their inhumane treatment of these individuals as they use them as political pawns.

DESANTIS: “Obviously it's sad that Martha's Vineyard people deported them the next day. They could have absorbed this, they chose not to. But what it shows is, if 50 was a burden on one of the richest places in our country, what about all these other communities that have been overrun with hundreds or thousands?”
