Watch the applause as Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama unveil their presidential portraits at the White House. Greeted by his former Vice President, and now President, Joe Biden welcomed back the duo to the White House by beginning the ceremony with “Barack and Michelle, welcome home.” The mood was light and jovial at the ceremony, as you can tell that this was a special moment as Former President Donald Trump broke previous tradition and hadn’t hosted the Obamas to unveil their portraits. The portraits were completed by two different talented artists - Former President Obama’s was painted by Robert McCurdy and the Former First Lady’s was painted by Sharon Sprung.
In a cute and romantic moment, Former President Barack Obama thanked portraitist Sharon Sprung for capturing his wife's "grace, her intelligence, and the fact that she’s fine.” The Former President was all jokes as he talked about how his portraitist Robert McCurdy refused “my request to make my ears smaller” and “talked me out of wearing a tan suit.”
