Donald Trump said it was a “very revealing day” after adult film actress Stormy Daniels testified against him in his New York criminal trial, at times revealing salacious details about their alleged affair.
Trump is charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in New York as part of a hush money scheme to bury stories of alleged extramarital affairs that he feared could hurt his presidential campaign in 2016. He is the first former president to ever stand trial on criminal charges.
“What do you make of Stormy’s testimony?” a reporter shouted at the former president at the end of the court day Tuesday.
“This was a very big day, a very revealing day,” Trump said. “As you see, the case is totally falling apart.”
“It’s just a disaster for the DA, for the Soros-backed DA. It’s a disaster. This whole case is just a disaster,” he continued. “If you read the legal scholars, you’ll see, because they’re writing about it, they’ve never seen anything quite like it. And neither have I. I should be out campaigning right now.”
