Speaking on right-wing media outlet Newsmax, former Trump legal advisor and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, denied accusations made against him that he was a Russian agent.
GIULIANI: “Then I was accused of knowing about Russian collusion. I said there was no Russian collusion, they say there was, they were lying. I was telling the truth. Then I was accused of being a Russian agent by the top intelligence people in the Democratic party, bunch of whores, and it turns out they're a bunch of liars and I'm not a Russian agent.”
Giuliani’s ties with a Ukrainian lawmaker who the Treasury Department says is a longtime Russian agent were highlighted during his time working for President Trump.
The Treasury announced sanctions against Andrii Derkach, then a member of the Ukrainian parliament, who allegedly had close ties to Russia's intelligence services for more than a decade.
Giuliani, who spent months promoting allegations about Biden and Ukraine, played a critical role promoting similar claims from Derkach.
Giuliani met Derkach while trying to dig up dirt in Ukraine on Biden.
