"Chanted, 'Kill all Muslims'": Sen. Kaine confronts Hegseth over former colleague's accusation about drunken behavior.

Sen. Tim Kaine on Tuesday confronted Trump Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth about an allegation from a colleague that he drunkenly chanted a threat against Muslim people.

"One of your colleagues said you got drunk at an event at a bar and chanted, 'Kill all Muslims,'" Kaine said to Hegseth during the Senate confirmation hearing for President-elect Donald Trump's pick for secretary of Defense.

The allegation stems from Hegseth's time leading the veterans group Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) during the group's "Defend Freedom Tour."

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) in an interview with "Meet the Press" said that Hegseth denied the incident to him. During his confirmation hearing, Hegseth bemoaned anonymous sources and blamed the media for orchestrating a "smear campaign" against him.

"Another colleague — not anonymous — we have this, said that you took coworkers to a strip club," Kaine added. "You were drunk. You tried to dance with strippers. You had to be held off the stage. And one of your employees in that event filed a sexual harassment charge as a result of it."

Kaine tried to needle Hegseth into answering that if such accusations and behaviors were true, they would be disqualifying of the Defense secretary.

"Anonymous false charges," the former Fox News co-host responded.
