Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz on Tuesday compared Donald Trump’s work ethic to his running mate in an interesting way.
“I keep asking this to make a contrast here: Can you simply picture Donald Trump working at a McDonald's, trying to make a McFlurry or something?” the Minnesota governor said during remarks before the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees’ 46th International Convention in Los Angeles.
Walz made the dig to compare the Democratic presidential nominee’s background to Trump, who hails from a wealthy family.
“Vice President Harris grew up in a middle-class family, picked up shifts at that McDonald's as a student,” Walz said. “Oh, he knows, he knows, he knows he couldn't run that damn McFlurry machine if it tossed him anything.”
Walz during his speech also defended the timing of his decision to retire from the Army National Guard in 2005.
“I am damn proud of my service to this country,” he said. “And I firmly believe you should never denigrate another person's service record.”
