President Joe Biden said he “doesn’t care” whether he faces Nikki Haley or Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
Biden was asked his preference while he gaggled with reporters as he was departing the White House en route to Los Angeles, California, for a campaign reception Tuesday.
“Who would you rather compete with in November: Nikki Haley or Donald Trump?” a reporter shouted to the president.
“Oh, I don’t care,” Biden replied, dismissing it with a wave of his hand.
Just prior to that moment, Nikki Haley rejected calls to drop out of the presidential race while delivering remarks in Greenville, South Carolina. “Some of you — perhaps a few of you in the media — came here today to see if I’m dropping out of the race. Well I’m not. Far from it,” the Republican candidate said.
“I feel no need to kiss the ring. I have no fear of Trump’s retribution. I’m not looking for anything from him. My own political future is of zero concern,” the former UN ambassador and South Carolina governor added, hitting the “herd mentality” of GOP politicians who have endorsed Trump.
