Deborah Scott is the CEO of Georgia STAND-UP, a “think and act tank for working families” in the state of Georgia. She and several Black women, including Stacey Abrams, were thrust into the spotlight in the wake of the 2020 election for their work in increasing voter turnout, particularly among Black and minority groups. Scott sits down with The Recount’s Britt Terrell to discuss the years of grassroots organizing that led to 2020 and how she’s fighting new voter suppression laws heading into the 2022 midterms.
