Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro on Monday listed several reasons he says Donald Trump is afraid to debate Vice President Kamala Harris.
"Because he's afraid to debate her now," Shapiro said during a rally outside of Philadelphia in support of Harris. "He's afraid to debate her because he can't defend his record."
Trump's campaign would not commit to a debate with Harris, despite previously agreeing to a Sept. 10 debate with Biden. Trump noted that he will "probably" debate Harris but did not solidify his participation.
Shapiro noted that Harris is "a skilled debater and a courtroom prosecutor who knows how to make the case."
"He's afraid to debate her because she knows the truth about how he failed as a president when he had the keys to the White House four years ago," the Pennsylvania governor continued.
"[Harris is] damn ready," Shapiro asserted. "And you know who else knows she's ready? Donald Trump knows she's ready."
