A survivor of the Lewiston, Maine, mass shooting at a bowling alley recounts hiding on top of pins in the lane.

At least 18 people were killed and 13 were injured in shootings in a Lewiston, Maine bowling alley and restaurant last night, for which police suspect firearms instructor Robert Card.

A survivor of the shooting at Sparetime Recreation bowling alley said he had gone alone and said he hadn’t even been bowling for ten minutes when he heard a “loud pop” that he thought was a balloon. “I had my back turned to the door. And as soon as I turned and saw that it was not a balloon, he was holding a weapon, I just booked it down the lane. And I slid basically into where the pins are and climbed up in the machine and was on top of the machines for about 10 minutes until the cops got there.”

Many parents and children were at the bowling alley for a children’s bowling league. Robert Card is still at large and considered armed and dangerous.
