“What is the difference between Greenland and Donald Trump?”: Sen. Amy Klobuchar gets booed for joke at press event.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar laughed off getting booed Wednesday at a Washington Press Club Foundation’s annual congressional dinner after she made a joke about President Donald Trump’s obsession with obtaining Greenland.

“Speaking of Greenland, there’s a question for you that I want to pose: What is the difference between Greenland and Donald Trump? Greenland is not for sale,” the Minnesota Democrat and former presidential candidate joked, drawing some boos from the audience.

“Okay, for any Republican Trump administration person out there that wants to throw eggs at me as a result of that joke, you can’t because they’re too expensive,” she responded, referencing the skyrocketing price of eggs nationwide, drawing more laughs.

Egg prices have skyrocketed nationwide amid high demand and an egg shortage caused by a bird flu outbreak. Currently, the average price for a dozen large shell eggs in California is $8.90, $7.63 in New York, and $7.03 in the Midwest. And prices are estimated to soar another 20% this year, compared to 2.2% for food overall.
